AMD EPYC Dedicated Server

The new AMD EPYC CPUs inspire with the latest technology and an extremely large number of CPU cores / threads. Even the smallest AMD EPYC 7282 processor can accommodate 16 CPU cores, which provide a total of 32 threads in the operating system. Our largest AMD EPYC offers the optimal platform with up to 128 threads as a cheap virtualization environment with a large load sharing capacity. AMD sets new standards in performance compared to energy requirements.

With our new Dedicated Server offerings we support not only the latest technologies but also NVMe SSDs. For databases and web servers, NVMe SSDs mean a significant increase in performance. Large database operations that previously required a very long data processing time are now processed in seconds.

Linux and Windows operating system

Linux and Windows operating system

The hardware of our Premium Server is perfect for the use of Linux and Windows. With the help of our automatic installation system, both operating system versions can be easily installed at any time. For Windows, if Windows was booked as the operating system, the capture of a key by our customer support is necessary after the installation. Optionally, a separate Windows Server Key can be used to activate the Windows Server operating system.

KVM over IP

AMD EPYC Server IPMI KVM over IP

All Business Root Servers have a built-in KVM over IP console on the motherboard. This is a feature of the Supermicro motherboards used with our Business Roots servers. Compared to third-party solutions, the IPMI KVM over IP Console can be over the same network port as normal network communication. An extra network connection for the IPMI Console is therefore not required. When the business root servers are delivered, the IPMI is always updated to a current firmware version.

Each business root server has Redundant power supplies that are also connected to a redundant power supply. The server racks are powered by two different power lines - so-called power feeds, which are independent of each other until the electricity supplier. This guarantees the further availability of the server even in the event of a power supply or power failure.

Hot-swap Harddisk frame

Thanks to the Hot-Swap HDD frame integrated in the housing, it is possible to replace any defective Harddisks without any problems during operation. This reduces unnecessary downtime for a Harddisk defect. After replacing the defective Harddisk, the RAID array can easily be restored using Adaptec's own arcconf Management Tool. The replacement of defective components is included in the rental price and possible at any time.

Redundant network connection

The Business Root servers are also connected to the Internet with 2x 1 Gigabit / s network connectivity. Each network connection is connected to different switches, which are each connected to different power feeds. If the server is installed and configured by our employees, the software configuration of an active-passive bond is performed in the network settings. If one of the switches fails, the Business Server will detect it and communication will be handled by the second switch in seconds. This provides you with maximum possible availability of the business server at the hardware level.

Adaptec Hardware RAID

Each business root server has a Adaptec Hardware RAID Controller. As standard, we use Adaptec 6405E controllers, but other Adaptec RAID controllers can also be used on request. Hardware RAID offers significant performance and disk management advantages over software RAID. Especially in the case of a Harddisk defect, replacement of the defective Harddisk usually requires no additional intervention by a technician to repair the RAID. Also, we have developed special monitoring tools to check the RAID status using Nagios.

ECC / ECC Registered RAM

ECC / ECC Registered RAM

To exclude faulty memory, we use only ECC and ECC Registered RAM for our Business Rootserver offerings. The difference between normal RAM and ECC RAM is the error correction function. An error-correcting code (ECC) is an error correction capable of correcting a 1-bit error and detecting a 2-bit error. ECC / ECC Registered RAM is therefore less prone to error than normal consumer RAM. Registered RAM uses additional registers to relieve the memory controller of the mainboard, which in turn allows a larger amount of memory to be installed.
