Own JAVA Hosting Tomcat instance

Each Tomcat web hosting package has its own Tomcat server instance. Faulty applications therefore can not affect the Tomcat instances of other customers. This creates optimal availability of Tomcat services and, in addition, a versional independence. It is therefore possible to upgrade the Tomcat server to a newer version, without other customers having to make adjustments to their application. Upon request, our customer support will set up access on the server via which the Tomcat instance can be independently restarted at any time. Tomcat's own Application Manager is also fully available.

Own JAVA Webspace Version

In addition to our own Tomcat version, our JAVA webspace tariffs also have their own JAVA versions. There is therefore no central JAVA version accessible to all Tomcat instances, but each customer has their own version of JAVA, which can be updated at any time to a more recent or older version. If desired, the JAVA version can be adapted accordingly via our customer support.

JAVA parallel to PHP

Other programming languages do not have to be left out of our JAVA webhosting packages. It is also possible to run PHP / HTML websites via our JAVA webspace packages. Domain A can therefore be addressed via a JAVA Tomcat server, whereas Domain B is a normal PHP website. In doing so, we assume a separation of the programming languages via the domain name. Which website should have a JAVA Tomcat functionality and a normal PHP functionality is centrally controlled via the vhost of the Apache 2 web server

Great hosting thread memory

Each JAVA hosting instance is limited to a 4096 MB (4 gigabyte) memory usage through the MaxPermSize and Xmx values. If your application requires more RAM, we can adjust the values as desired via our customer support. As a rule, 4 gigabytes of RAM are perfectly adequate for a standard application. The host systems themselves, which are used for the JAVA Tomcat web hosting packages, have a total of 64 - 128 gigabytes of RAM.

Tomcat Manager

Due to the own JAVA Tomcat instance it is of course also possible to access the Tomcat own application manager. This allows the applications to be managed (Start, Stop, Reload, Undeploy and Expire Sessions) as well as to access basic functions such as 'Server Status' or the Manager Help. For each customer, the full administration scope of the Tomcat server is fully available.

SSL Certificat Management

If you need an SSL certificate for your JAVA Tomcat web hosting package, you can add it via our order process. Thanks to the upstream Apache web server, it is possible to connect SSL certificates to the Tomcat application without any configuration on the Tomcat server. The Apache web server serves as a kind of SSL proxy that forwards SSL requests with delivery of the SSL certificate to the Tomcat application. Therefore, no complicated SSL configuration must be made on the Tomcat web server itself.
