When choosing our server hardware, special attention was paid to the use of branded hardware. This should reduce the disruption to a minimum and ensure sustainable availability of the virtual machines. A maximum of 100 virtual servers are running on our server systems. We want to guarantee optimal performance for our customers, so we do not focus on the cheapest but best way. The servers themselves are equipped with an Adaptec Hardware RAID 10 with 8 latest-generation hard drives in the Harddisk network to ensure stable operation of the vServer service even for applications that generate high I / O rates.

Flexibility of TariffsEvery vServer package can be promoted to the next higher level at any time. A vServer Upgrade can take place in the course of a month, regardless of the duration of the contract. A partial credit will be applied to the amount already paid and the vServer will be charged from the time of the upgrade until the end of the month. This ensures that no double costs arise for you. An extension of the vServer is commissioned through our Customer Support and processed within a very short time. Only with HVM virtualized vServers an expansion of the Harddisk capacity is not possible.

After completing the vServer order via our order scripts, the order will be thoroughly reviewed. As soon as this check is completed, you will receive the vServer access data by e-mail within a maximum of 24 hours. By default, we install the vServer with a Debian Minimal installation. The operating system of the vServer can, however, be changed at any time via the administration area. We always guarantee to have sufficient resources available on our vServer host systems to provide a full range of vServers in the shortest possible time.

In order to save you the long configuration and installation effort of your vServer, we offer all common Linux Operating Systems as 1-click installation. This vServer installation method is only available for para-virtualized machines. For a HVM vServer the installation must be done using a VNC Console, any installation ISO can be set up via our customer support.

IP-Addresses

By default, we only assign one IP address to our virtual machines. However, if further IP-Addresses are required, we are happy to provide up to 5 IP-Addresses free of charge. A distribution of IP-Addresses on different Class C IP networks is unfortunately not possible with these offers. The use of IPv6 addresses, either as a single IP or as an IPv6 IPv6 network, is possible at no extra cost. However, the IPv6 address must be provided individually by customer support after ordering vServer individually.

Hot- and Cold Backups

With the help of our vServer administration area you can make hot- or cold backups of your virtual machine at any time. By hot backups we mean backups during operation comparable to a snapshot backup function. For cold backups, the virtual machine is frozen during the backup process to avoid changes to the file system at the time of backup. The backups can be restored at any time, with little effort, via the web interface.

These vServer installation images are always audited and maintained by our employees. Our technical support does not check what services or data resides on your virtual Linux server, except in the case of Abuse messages we have to respond accordingly and stop a virtual machine if necessary.

Compared to other providers, we only use Xen Server to virtualize our vServer. This allows us to use numerous kernel-based tools that simplify, for example, the migration of a vServer to other vServer host systems. In terms of terms, the term HVM virtual machine is similar to KVM virtualization technology. At the same time, a vServer container is created in which the data of the virtual machine is located. The advantage of HVM / KVM is that you can use your own vServer kernel independently of the kernel of the vServer host. XenPara virtualization is similar to OpenVZ. This is a virtualization variant that is a file-based virtualization and very closely linked to the kernel of the vServer host system.
